meet our bartending family

Marilyn has always had an entrepenurial spirit and has a lot of ambition to go-go-go. Prior to starting One More Bartending, she was working at a local golf course providing bar/restaurant management. She brought in Jake to run a couple of bev cart & bar shifts and they had fun in the service industry together. The idea came to mind to start their own bartending business focusing on weddings, birthday's, etc. This would allow them to chart their own schedule and spend time together while he was away at college and help him earn money for college expenses. A couple years later, along came her youngest, Chevy, (of age to serve) and they got to team up as well and catch up with one another while serving at their events and Chevy was pursuing college. Of course, more college expenses to cover! (:
Jake graduated in 2020 from the U of MN - Mpls. as a Mechanical Engineer and enjoys his career choice. Jake's outgoing and friendly personality has gained him many great friends (several have come on board and work with us!) and he is always on the go. Whether he's with a very special lady (Cailin), golfing with his friends, on a hiking trip, or just traveling to visit friends that have moved away, we're lucky to get his time with us! Our clients and guests love to find out that we are a mother & son team and working together has given us valuable memories together! Update on Jake: He's moved away to Phoenix, AZ in October 2023. We're keeping him on the team in case he wants to come back and help out or potentially grow to OMB South - after all, wedding season is just getting underway down there when we close up. :)
Along came Chevy - he's 5 years younger than Jake and is also a fellow U of MN/Mpls. student - studying finance/accounting at Carlson School of Business as he's now completing his senior year. Chevy loves being able to bartend every job possible. He's got a carefree attitude, always smiling, and living in the moment. He loves to meet you and your guests and will introduce himself to everyone. He's got a great memory for names and that has been his little 'niche' in this business. Chevy and Jake are also frat brothers at Beta Theta Pi fraternity. They both have servant hearts and I am doubly proud to work with them!
There is one more brother that has started to join us - Carson. Carson has the same sweet, kind, disposition - but being around crowds is not his thing. Carson has dabbled in a few jobs with us - and has come out of his shell and comfort zone a little bit (and even had some fun!). It's been great to have him as part of our teams and we hope there will be several more jobs that he'll help out with.
Last but not least, Marilyn has 5 fantastic stepchildren and 3 amazing grandchildren. A step-daughter and daughter-in-law have given a hand with us and we're so happy to have them on board! Hopefully you'll see a lot more of them. (:

Perhaps you just want glassware for the cocktail reception. We can use glassware until they run out and switch back to plastic after the cocktail reception or during the dance.
